These bills are designed to encourage and incentivize more illegal immigrants to settle in Michigan by shielding their immigration status and prohibiting the Secretary of State from sharing license holders’ citizenship information with immigration enforcement. This would complicate law enforcement efforts and undermine public safety.

Offering driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants serves as a powerful incentive, making it easier for them to take jobs from Michigan citizens. The most alarming consequence, however, is that it opens the door to allowing illegal immigrants to vote!
